3 Tips to Lose Weight by Having Healthy Gut
Have you gained a few pounds in the last year? You might be able to blame your gut!
Lisa Kilgour compares our gut as a rainforest. She mentioned that we have trillions of organisms located in our intestines with over 1,000 different types.
When our microbiome doesn’t function properly, our digestion gets compromised; gas, bloated, irregularity, cramping, low immune system, depression, anxiety, etc.
When our immune system is down, we are susceptible to chronic inflammation, auto-immune conditions, and even allergies and eczema.
We can balance our rainforest in only 7 days by eating these foods:
- Eat plant-based foods (legumes, lentils, soy, vegetables, miso).
- DIY fermented food (kefir, unpasteurized sauerkraut, yogurt, kombucha, fermented beans, and dill pickles).
- Add probiotic supplements to your diet. There are so many options on the market and it doesn’t mean that they will react well with you. My naturopath tests me to know which ones I need.
