How to Get Happy

  • Start by consciously acknowledging all you have to be grateful for every day. Get a journal and write 3 positive things that have happened throughout the course of your day.
  • Surround yourself with positive people. Do a regular clean up among your friends and relatives and stay away from those who are negative or unhappy. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t help others who are in need of support but be careful, some can be very draining.
  • Giving back: helping others or volunteering for a cause help you stay grounded.
  • Meditate regularly. Learn and practice with me: Melanie Morrissette (personal trainer, yoga, and group fitness instructor in Kelowna).
  • Physical activity promotes happiness by producing the hormone serotonin.
  • Transform bad moments by gaining new experiences in life. With every one of them you get stronger.
