Yoga and Pilates

YOGA / CHAIR YOGA (60 or 90 min):

DSC04160

A typical open level class includes pranayama (breathing exercises), warm-ups including  Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar), basic asanas (postures) and deep relaxation. The focus is on mastering the basic asanas from which variations are then added to further deepen the practice. The asanas follow an exact order that allows for the systematic movement of every major part of the body in a balanced way that enhances prana or life force energy, keeping the mind quiet and without the need to think beyond each individual pose. Additional variations may also be taught.  For more information, visit the Sivananda website:http://www.sivananda.org/

PILATES (60 min):

I love Pilates. The majority of us have weak core muscles. Pilate
exercises are some of the best workouts to improve core tone and strength.
In my Pilate classes, you are going to improve your strength,
flexibility, and develop control and endurance for your entire body. Your
coordination and balance will improve as well. I`m  picky on body
alignment and I always invite my participants to engage their muscles
while doing poses.  Classes are for all fitness levels as I always give 2
to 3 options per exercise.

    Testimonials

Mélanie is the motivator par excellence! Put your trust in her. I have been doing fitness with her for years and I still enjoy all her classes.  She gives a lot of options and I like the way she changes our exercise program every week.

Mel is such a great trainer. After I broke my foot, my mobility was very bad; I was walking slow because I was afraid of falling again. Mel has proposed me to train in the pool to improve my balance, strength and mobility. It worked! I also participate in her Osteofit class which is perfect for me to stay strong and independent. Since my husband passed away, I need to take […]
